Can't get off work to get John Stewart's signature?

Hey, everyone out there in the Districism of Columbialand! Are you having trouble getting off work to head over to Politics and Prose to get the new Jon Stewart book signed by the man himself this Friday? Are you worried that the inside cover of your copy will remain unadorned for all time, bereft of autography? Well fear not. Our favorite shayna maidel Shayna has done you a solid: "if they can't arrange to leave work for JS at P&P, they can pre-buy the book and fill out a form and they'll get it signed for you .. but he's not personalizing those or the ones done in-store at the signing."

So, if you cannot get to Politics and Prose in person, this is still a good opportunity to give John Stewart severe hand-cramp. Just as he's given so many of you.

Dude, how many times have you seen his freakin' show? It's spelled J-O-N. Get with the program. [sheesh]

I'm not surprised this blogger would make such a mistake. After all, it's enough to earn your D.C. hip bona fides these days by simply invoking Stewart's name?never mind how it's spelled or whether he's really any good (but he hates Bush! I know, I know . . . ).

But it does appear that the blogger seems to think that Jon Stewart is fabulously funny and smart and his book is a riot. Unfortunately, none of this is really true.

He's funny when his writers and supporting cast are working well, terrible when he's forced to talk without a script (and pretty stupid, too, actually), and his book is one-page-funny ten-pages-trite.

This is all rather sad, of course, if you've adopted the terminally hip Stewart as your new "god."

But then, that would be the saddest thing of all . . .

(We shouldn't even get started on "Disctricism of Columbialand" . . . )

TO answer your questions, I put the extra H in Jon Stewart's name from time to time during my New God Worship Services. The H, in this case, stands for "hashish."

. . . and the "DCeiver" needs to stop responding to this own posts as "anonymous" (with a poor Texan accent, to boot) . . .

The Deceiver has only one time posted to his own blog anonymously, and that was by accident (in response to a forgotten blogroll shout-out).

So step off and let my anonymous, presumed-Texan guests post in peace.
