The regret people said I'd feel if I didn't get behind the Nationals?

Yeah...when was that supposed to kick in?

No matter what happens from here on out the Nationals have improved astronomically over last year and somehow are still in the hunt. They have much to build on going into next season. I've also spent my whole life developing a hatred for the Yankees and the Braves. I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick of these organizations. Every single day another person jumps on one or the other's bandwagon. I won't stand in there and be cookie cutter brainwashed with the rest of them. I know the plight of teams with suffering like the Red Sox and the Cubs, but this has nothing to do with me either. Go Nationals! Who else you gonna get behind?

Umm. The DC United?

And when I was a baseball fan, I backed the greatest team in the history of the game. The Saint Louis Cardinals.

They went out and scored 6 runs tonight, to win their second in a row and pull within three games of first place in the wild card race. I know a guy who bets against the Nats a good bit and, whenever he does, they win. If I can get that guy to keep betting against them and you to write pieces like this, they might pull it off. I'd just be happy to see them stay in it as long as possible. I'm not looking for a World Series...just a close race 'til the end. Everything else is gravy. Actually, a World Series would be pretty sweet.

Doesn't matter. If you are from D.C., you support the home team. I've been loyal to the Redskins, haven't I? (reported with a heavy sigh).

I support them insofar as I do not believe it is right for the Nationals to be chased through the streets and flogged like dogs, like I do the Chicago Blackhawks.

I'm a "well-wisher in that I don't mean them any specific harm."

By the way, we're reaching the point where if you wanted to stop supporting Dan Snyder's NFL venture, you wouldn't be thought of as being less of a person for it.

Go United! And, has it really struck anyone as grand that the US National soccer team has qualified for the World Cup? Woo Hoo!

The co-general manager of the Sacramento Kings gave dannie snyder props on The Hot Seat segment on Sportscenter. He almost spoke about him in the same sentence as the Buss' that own the Lakers that have 9 championships under their belts. Huh?? Of course dannie puts fans in the seats. It was that way before he came and will be the same after he is gone. Most fans are probably scared that if they don't go to the games they will lose their seats for when the Redskins get good again. Like I've said before about the most important quality of a Redskins fan: Patience. Don't count out the Nats. It's not like they don't want to win. At least one person has been ejected from the game in the last two!! Usually you don't get ejected unless something happens that can prevent your team from winning the game where people don't see eye to eye. I don't think they're running out on the field with pine tar dripping from their bats.

Yeah, it's weird how we just EXPECT to go to the World Cup now. There was no fanfare at all. I absolutely loved that Mexico's coach said that we played like "his sister, mother, and grandmother" after we beat them 2-0. I mean, if that were true, wouldn't Mexico's women's team be pretty good?
